Bought the lux hybrid plush king size 3 years ago. Paid $4k After 1st few weeks and months I called complaining it was not the mattress I laid on in the store. Sales person suggested I jump on the mattress. (Um what??) After 1 year they swapped. Same issues exist as the 1st one they swapped out! It's just me and I have to throw my legs off the side of bed and pull my self out of a hole. No I'm not a large person! I HATE this mattress. So uncomfortable. I toss and turn all night! End up diagonal or sideways when I wake up from no sleep. I tore the tags off because they were so bulky when trying to change the sheets and got in my way so it's not covered under warranty. I do not recommend. If I could drag it outside and set it on fire I would!

This mattress started out great, but now the foam section sags unless I rotate the mattress every two weeks, and even then, the mattress hasn't kept it's original firmness. I thought I was investing in a quality mattress, but less than two years later I'm buying a new mattress. So disappointed. Do not buy if you need a very firm mattress.

Our old mattress cost a small fortune -- the "top of the line" very expensive model from your competitor. Over the years, we grew increasingly disappointed with the discomfort, increasing softness and deteriorating condition. As older adults, we wanted to replace it with the "last mattress we'd ever buy", which would make sleep more pleasant. This Lux Hybrid (firm) far exceeded our expectations. The firmness was close to perfect, and (wow) we now wake up almost 100 percent pain free. We'd incorrectly assumed that many of those old mattress-generated pains were just part of life. Adjusted for inflation, it cost much less than the old mattress. The Lux Hybrid makes our whole day better -- happier -- less grouchy! The only thing we'd change would be to make it lighter weight. Rotating it will likely require some help from the neighbor kids!

It has been a little over a year and we have been completely disappointed in the Lux Hybrid, Firm CA King that we purchased(purchased online, not in store)
At 6'5 I am not a small person and was worried about soft mattress that "sinks" Prior to this purchase we had purchased x2 Stearns & Fosters(S&F) mattress/box over a 20 year period and been completely happy with the product. We were concerned about the memory foam/hybrid and did go into local Mattress Firm in San Diego area to try.
About a month+ after delivery I started to notice that the mattress was loosing its firmness in area I was sleeping...now after a year it takes some effort to get up...best way to describe it is I do not lay on the mattress, I sink into it.
I did voice thru S&F "contact us" page on multiple occasions however I NEVER received a reply(at least 1 or 2 of these were sent before the 90 from delivery period)
Because the message was sent thru there contact page, I did not have record of messages and the few times I attempted to call I ended up hanging up due to wait time.
At this point unless we can find a solution for the issue we will end up getting rid of a mattress we spent $5k on with a little over a year of use.
My wife and I, when we find a brand we like, stay loyal too it...now we have to start once again looking for a good mattress
Maybe if we stayed with a traditional S&F mattress w/out the hybrid added it would be different....

Have had this mattress for approximately three years now. No complaints about comfort or sleeping. My complaint is the price and the weight of this mattress. When the delivery men, and I mean, they were big men carried this into our house. They actually made a comment about the heaviness of a sterns and foster mattress. Please do not write me back, telling me why this mattress is engineered this way, I don't care it is ridiculous that a mattress weighs what this mattress does. you recommend rotating the mattress and you recommend buying a power base, I can understand needing the power base. It is an absolute Terror to have to even rotate this mattress. I cannot believe it weighs what it does no need for that. For that reason I will never purchase another one. If it sounds like I am upset during writing this review, it is, because I just finished rotating this ridiculous mattress.

We had mattress-in-a-box for our previous mattresses and thought we'd upgrade to an S&F because we THOUGHT that if they were more expensive then it would be better quality. Boy were we wrong. The mattress came saggy, but I thought it was just me, but as we continued to use it we realized it was the mattress. When we tried to do a warranty claim, it was cumbersome, time consuming, and frustrating with a LOT of back and forth with their claims team. After several rounds of photo sending an explanations, they ended up denying the claim on a technicality which they could have done at the start. We were incredibly frustrated that they wouldn't stand behind their products nor offer any kind of compensation for our troubles and back pain. Wouldn't recommend to my worst enemy. They don't even make this mattress anymore which should say something.

I have owned the Lux Estate Hybrid Firm for just over two years. Over this time, I am religious about rotating the mattress. It is advised to rotate every two weeks, then reducing to every 3 months.
The mattress has started to fail! Springs popping and almost an inch divot on each side. While sleeping the divot feels trapping and is deep, however a warranty technician stated a 2" deformation is minimum.
With the cost of a new Stearns, I am disappointed that I have to replace the mattress or continue to sleep in a hole until the divot is deeper.
Do not repeat my mistake!

The first night sleeping on this mattress was truly one of the best nights of sleep I have been able to have in a VERY long time. I am a side sleeper & my husband is too. I felt so comfortable all night long, even after having surgery just a week prior to receiving this mattress and I felt supported all night long.
I truly did not want to get out of bed & go to work this morning. My husband and I went back & forth on purchasing this mattress and I am 100% so glad we just did it.
This is the first review I have ever left for a product I've bought. That's how truly great I feel about recommending this mattress to any future buyers.

By far the worst mattress I have ever owned. We bought a king size and in less than 2 years it had a big hump in the center it took about 3 months of back and forth to get it replaced under warranty. The model we had they did not make anymore and we went with the Hybrid Lux on the next one. The new mattress did the same thing in a years time. I would not recommend there mattress to anyone.
Their warranty service is all automated you can't talk to a person. A lot of back and forth emailing. It is so frustrating.
We bought our first one when we lived in Arizona and then moved to Indiana where we started having issues with it. I went through the LONG warranty process had to pay a delivery fee and a disposal fee. I opted out of the disposal fee and gave it away. The first one was discontinued and they said the replacement for it was the hybrid lux estate. We went with that in a king like our last and in a medium in firmness. In less than 1 year it was doing the same. I contacted them recently to try the process again and it was the same hassle. Filled out all the warranty information. I did not have a receipt for purchase so I could not provide it. I never heard anything back so I messaged them through Facebook and they said I never submitted anything and would have to do it again. It is very frustrating. Worst warranty process ever.
Now they say it won't be covered under warranty because I have a flat solid base like plywood, but their website says to use a solid flat base.

My wife and I are on our second Stearns and Foster mattress. The first failed under warranty luckily and was replaced with our current mattress. Our experience with our current mattress is the same. Both sides have indentations and valleys that create a poor night's sleep. My wife is under 110 ponds and I am around 175 so I dont think our weight is an issue. Customer service will not replace this mattress stating "it is still within limits". By the way, this mattress is only 3 years old. Our next mattress will not be a Stearns and foster.

The first night I slept on my new mattress I wasn't sure if the mattress was going to be firm enough with the soft pillow top with my bad back, shoulders, and hips. When I laid on the bed I thought I will have to return the bed because it didn't support my back. When I woke up in the morning, I had no pain! This is the first time in 12 years when I didn't wake up in pain and feeling like a truck ran me over. The bed doesn't move when my husband or my 100 pound German Shepherd jumps in my bed. When sitting on the side of the bed getting my meds for the night, the bed is supportive and I don't slide off. We love our new bed! Highly recommend!

I looked forward to getting a high quality Stearns & Foster mattress, but that's not what I got. It feels like a cheap, foam rubber pad. It's not firm, it's squishy. I sink in and wake up every time I try to pull myself out of a hole to turn over. It's supposed to be cool, but it's hot. It was a big waste of money.

The worst mattress I've ever owned after 8 months of trying to get used to it we had to put in guest room we are using our old mattress again just after 4 hours of sleeping on it causes lower back pain for both of us my wife weighs 115 lb and I weigh 250 makes no difference it sinks in when we sleep on it . I went through all the hoops for warranty and lots of pictures broom stick test and receipt for customer support said our box spring was not compatible and there was no defect in their product. The sleep galleria we purchased at is out of business . No replacement or warranty I advise anyone not to buy before knowing about the full warranty.

We have had this mattress for a year and a half and already replacing it! Worst mattress ever for the high dollar price it was!
We gave it a chance in the beginning thinking it just needed breaking in but then it was past the time to return it. So poorly made that you feel every lump, the indentations stay put and you roll into them each night and feels like you are going to roll out of bed. You feel every movement of the other one. I suffer from fibromyalgia and I have never felt this bad with body aches and pains after a sleep. We both now need physical therapy to fix our problems. Husband has back issues that have worsened as well. Can't even turn over without difficulty! From leg pain, hip pain, low back pain, shoulder pain, and muscles spasms this mattress has caused more issues than it's worth. Don't even get me started on how HOT it sleeps! We wake up in sweats! Literally money wasted on this S & F Lux Estate pillow top medium edition. Never again. I do not recommend this product.

So comfortable, I don't sleep well usually not past 4am. But since I replaced my mattress with this one I've been sleeping till 5-6 am. And my body feels more rested. I am a customer not paid to write this. I have MS and this bed has made a very big difference. You won't sleep warm on it. It's worth the investment.

It's just truly comfortable. It arrived very quickly and delivery was very quick. What more could I ask for? The medium is a perfect combo of support and comfort. No stinky mattress smell. We get a much better sleep now. Seems my previous one had much harder edges, but that was mentioned in my previous bed as a separate technology. This isn't bad though. Overall very pleased

We first had a different model and it hurt so much when we woke up. We got this one instead and at first it was ok (it's only a year old) and now I can't stand it. I hurt, it indents and that doesn't come out so I roll towards the indentation. Now I have to sleep in the middle of the bed to keep from sinking. It's a king and I'm sleep by myself now so there's plenty of room to move around but I shouldn't have to. Not sure what's wrong with this but it's the worst I've ever slept on.

My husband and I are absolutely blown away by the quality of this product. We knew we needed a new mattress, but have been trying to hold out as long as we could (inflation 😜). After a month or so of consistently waking up in pain, with stiffness and aches that would last a good part of the morning, I had the last straw. We went to our local mattress store and we trialed several different beds. My husband and I agreed we wouldn't shop with price in mind, but instead we would shop for comfort. I laid on this mattress and felt like I fell into a cloud. It supported every curve on my body and suited me as a side/back sleeper and my husband as a side/belly sleeper. We still laid on other mattresses - unsure if we wanted traditional coils or if we wanted to get another all foam mattress. The hybrid is really the best of both worlds. We got it delivered and set up, napped for the afternoon and woke up for the first time in months without any shred of pain! My husband and I both have rheumatic arthritic conditions. The bed you sleep on is an investment. We have the soft, the medium was okay, the firm was too much for us. If you can, sample the mattress and you, too, will be sold on the superior quality of Stearns & Foster!!!

I have leukemia, and the medications that I must take daily have serious side effects. My joints are always painful and inflamed. Furthermore, I must sleep on my side due to a failed neck fusion. In the last twelve months, I have tried a mattress advertised as the best comfort. That didn't work at all. Next, I decided to purchase a highly advertised soft mattress with the same outcome. No rest, painful nights always!
I purchased my Sterns and Foster Lux Hybrid (Soft) (LHH3) mattress in early March of 2024. From the first night, I experienced far less pain, slept better, and felt so very much better than I have in many years! This mattress is by far, the best mattress I have ever had and I highly recommend it!

We bought a very expensive mattress to support our backs and to relieve discomfort we were having. It made some improvement but advice from a physical therapist to place a pillow between our knees did much more good. Now after a little over a year, depressions are developing where we sleep with a ridge in the middle. A service technician came out to evaluate it and made measurements along the ridge so found no problem. You can clearly see the depressions even with a comforter on top. Also, the sides are beginning to roll down. This is not the quality I would expect from a mattress in this price range.

The structure of the mattress deteriorated in less than one year. When I sat on the edge, the edge sank about half way down. The area where I normally slept developed a valley such that my girlfriend said she felt like she was entering a valley. Unfortunately since the mattress sprang back to its original level when no one was on it, the warranty dept refused to provide any help. So I discarded it. Poor quality and disappointing level of customer support.

We have bought three beds in the past seven months. Moved one to the guest room and sent one back. Finally, when we got this Stearns Foster mattress, we found our match. I read reviews each time I bought each mattress. Not sure what to say except the first two - which were also not inexpensive - were just not comfortable. They were so uncomfortable that I was roaming from one bed to the couch and back. When we got this Stearns and Foster bed, I stopped roaming and slept through the night without aching in the morning. I wish we would have bought this first, but at least I'm glad we kept looking instead of giving up. We bought this hybrid, medium mattress with the base and I don't think we'll ever buy another brand now that we've found a comfortable bed. We'll worth the cost. Five stars.

I have had the mattress for 1 week, and it has been awesome. I bought a Lux Hybrid Medium King. The store warned me that it might be really tight and smell like plastic when it arrived. I did not experience either. I just to moan when I got out of bed in the morning, I never realized how bad my old mattress was. I have not had any ackey joints since I received the mattress. My only regret is I didn't purchase it years ago. Thanks for building such great quality products

Purchased in June but already sagging & I have been rotating it too. Now it is sagging on both sides. Tried to file a warranty claim, there is a fabulous 10 yr warranty however, there are so many loopholes in the warranty it's worthless to me. For some reason I have to prove I bought the mattress although my invoice is on file by providing a pic of a law tag. That is a paper tag on the side of the mattress which of course I removed. Could hear the paper crunching when using the mattress. So I was told I could use a tag on the bottom of the mattress. I looked and it doesn't exist, I did not remove it and have never looked at the bottom of the mattress. It was delivered and placed right side up on the bed, I never saw the bottom. I wasted my money & cannot recommend this mattress. Beware if you plan to purchase & be sure to check out the warranty requirements.

We had our mattress delivered today so have not slept on it yet. The buying experience was excellent. James Foreman was our Outfitter and he took as much time as we needed to test each mattress and find the one that was best for our sleep needs. He explained the pros and cons of each mattress and also explained their mattress recycling program as well as their delivery experience. By the time we left the store, we were confident that we could make a decision and be happy with our mattress. The next day, I placed the order with Steve, the manager, who also explained the delivery and mattress pickup process. Our mattress came on time and was quickly taken upstairs and installed along with the box springs we bought. We used our current metal frame and the mattress and box springs fit perfectly. All in all, we had an excellent experience with Mattress Outfitters and I will recommend them to friends and family. Thanks, James and Steve, we appreciate your knowledge and professionalism.

BUYER BEWARE unless you have money to just throw away. This is the worse performing mattress I have ever owned manufactured in a Stearns and Foster.brand. I purchased a Queen and a king to replace older mattresses 4 months ago and have regretted it ever since. There is not any support in it. When you sit or lay for just a short period of time it bottoms out giving you NO support there. Forget about a good night sleep because it is not going to happen with this mattress. Neither my husband or myself are large people. Getting up in the mornings with back pain and not rested since a few hours is all either of us can take on this mattress does not make for a good day. I have a medical condition that makes getting enough sleep crucial to daily function. This issue with this mattress goes beyond "break in" condition. You feel like you are in a hole all the time. I guess buying a new model mattress is like buying a new model car, you don't do it! Wait until enough complaints are made that the manufacturer makes the corrections necessary to manufacture a reliable quality product before you make a purchase. I feel like a crash dummy for mattresses in the testing phase!! Unfortunately I DO NOT have anything good to say about this mattress. For the money spent I expected quality from Stearns and Foster as I always have. I only gave it one star because that was the lowest I could rate it.

Mattress was great for 1 month until suddenly a 6 inch deep by 3 foot long hole appeared in the center of the mattress. It's unusable now. I have tried every phone number and customer support email on the website dozens of times, no response. You can't talk to anyone. It's supposed to have a 10 year warranty. Bought from a large furniture store but they special ordered this mattress, not a Stearns and Foster dealer, so they won't help at all. Worst customer service ever. I'm ready to drive the mattress 12 hours to the factory and return it in person. I'm hoping to get a response from this review as nothing else works.

Recently purchased this mattress and a large dip formed about the size of a watermelon only a month or so of sleeping in it. It was replaced by the same exact mattress and once again the dip is back. Don't think we'll be keeping this mattress and get our money back.
